The LG Vu is a touch-screen phone with a 3-inch display. It comes with AT&T Mobile TV which is difficult to watch but neat. Fast HSDPA speedscome from its USB Modem, a 2.0-megapixel camera that's handy but not great, a full HTML browser which I use in an emergency, and quad-band support.

The camera doesn't have a flash, and learning to use the touch screen takes some time. Streaming video can sometimes be choppy and it's neat to be able to see YouTube on the Vu but I really don't use it, the screen is small so I watch those on the laptop. I don't use the TV because I really don't watch TV, but the Vu has a antenna that can be extended to improve reception. Using the Vu as a modem for my laptop means getting a USB cable for it at one of the AT&T stores or at Amazon.com.

It is one of the best phones I've ever used!

The 3-inch WQVGA 262K color touchscreen just has you touch the screen with your finger, or a stylus, or a pen, I've actually used a straw. The 2MP camera with autofocus takes pictures by pushing the same buttons used to dial and hang up phone calls and the photos can be emailed to where ever. The HTML web browser provides my email and responding with the VU is ok using the onscreen keypad. Small fingers would be nice sometimes! HSDPA connectivity is great, a McAfee Speed Test showed my laptop connecting at better than 500mps through the Vu's internal USB Modem. 120MB internal memory has been plenty for my cell phone address book, calendar, etc. USB mass storage mode with 4GB microSD card inserted is storing my favorite mp3's, a bunch of family photos, and a place to a backup files from my laptop.

The actual size is 4.25"H x 2.16"W x 0.51"D, which is slightly larger than most cell phones but really just big enough for what the phone does. The 1000mAh battery, supplies up to 3-hours of talk time and has worked great always staying fully charged.

Paired with my IBM Thinkpad T23 laptop I love this phone! The Vu modem connects my laptop to the web anywhere, and the phone itself lets me text message and email anywhere.

My favorite phone so far, not an iPhone but all I need.
